Blog 6 Post: DreamBox

 https://www.dreambox.com/

This blog post is about a tool from our T3PP results from our class.

What is DreamBox?

DreamBox is an online learning program to help students with math. Like my previous post about Lexia, DreamBox automatically adjusts to student levels and helps with progress monitoring. DreamBox uses games to help student engagement and is aligned to math standards for kindergarten through 8th grade.

Ease of Use

DreamBox is typically easy to use. It allows for automatic adjustment as student needs change. Students can easily tap to start a lesson, with the early learners go through a story and older students can choose their own lessons. It is easy to use for teachers because they get student progress in real-time and see where a student needs more work.

Versatility

DreamBox is very versatile. It automatically adjust to student needs, can be used from kindergarten through 8th grade. Students can use DreamBox at school or at home, much like my previous technology, Lexia. DreamBox allows teachers to see student progress and struggles in real-time.

Use in the Classroom

DreamBox is something i would definitely consider using in my own classroom. It is interactive for students, I can get their progress in real-time, plus I can also see the areas in which the students are struggling. The only downfall is that DreamBox is a subscription-based online program, so if it is not covered by the district, I could also see myself not using the program.

Connection

DreamBox can be connected to the TLC T3: Instruction. It is a math-based instructional program that helps students by automatically adjusting to individual levels.

  1. Hello Tiffany!! I enjoyed reading through your post on Dreambox. I also chose this tool as one of my classroom technologies. Your post was so well structured and informational, I love how colorful your blog page is. I like how you noted that it's a great site for a range of ages. I thought this site did a good job at connecting to all three TLC tiers as it allows educators to provide students with personalized and paced instruction, as well as check on student progress. While also letting instructors time clarify students misconceptions and let students ask questions. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Hi Tiffany! It’s been a long time since I’ve heard of Dreambox, so your post was a very nice refresher! My favorite thing I learned about this software is its versatility within courses for a wide range of grade levels. I also like how Dreambox automatically adjusts to the students individual progress so they can work at their own pace.
