What is a SMART Board?
A SMART Board is a digital whiteboard that acts as a computer. Users are able to use their fingers and digital tools to interact with the computer.
Ease of Use
The SMART Board is designed to be easy to use. It functions as a cross between a tablet and a white board. Teachers and students can use the provided pens, their fingers, provided erasers, and the palm of their hands to write and erase on the board. Set up is simple, most are plug-and-play technology.
Versatility
SMART Boards are extremely versatile. They can be used for interactive lessons and to help student engagement. They can be used by both teachers and students since they are easy to use.
Use in the Classroom
This is something I would love to have in my own classroom. It allows me to not stand behind a computer or a projection screen, which will help me teach lessons better. I also like that students can just use their own fingers to write and draw. I think it is something my students would love to use as well.
Connection
This technology relates closely to the PICRAT framework. Students are Interactive and Creative and the teacher is uses Amplified and Transformative teaching.
Hi Tiffany! Smartboards are used in nearly every elementary classroom, I am so glad you chose to blog about this tool. I love how smartboards promote interactive learning and encourage creativity. I would also love to have a Smartboard in my future classroom!
ReplyDeleteHi Tiffany! I thought your post was insightful on the technology, smartboard. In class, we have worked with the smartboard. I believe our experience with the smartboard was engaging. I agree that this technology is great at engaging young students. In my classroom, I would use smartboard for students to write math equations for the class. It would give students a great experience to be a star in the class. Thank you for sharing.
